My nose is swollen, I have bruises I can’t explain, a burn on my knuckle, I’m still tired even after 12 hours of sleep and I haven’t felt better in ages.
Becca, Corbin, Jamie and myself went to Park Springs Christian Camp this weekend. We babysat for parents attending a convention there. I took care of kids who were 3 years old and younger. SO tiring, but so worth it… all of it. I love having relationships with people, no matter if they are 2 years old or 117 years old.
To explain the injuries I have accrued in a 24 hour period, I’ll get into it. Bounce houses are the jam, if you’re 10 and under and not completely out of shape. We spent the majority of our time watching or playing with kids in the bounce houses there. It was awesome, but I think every muscle in my body is completely torn. Anywho, after the kids fell asleep we blew up the bounce thingy that was made for jousting. I hadn’t ever legitimately jousted before so, I thought it would be fun. I was right, but I got beat in the face. Yes, literally beat in the face. Full on tears down the face, can’t feel my nose because Corbin accidentally beat me in the face! Ha. It was an accident though; it was just a really painful accident. So, that explains my first face fail. The second time my nose was almost broken was again with Corbin. Tether ball isn’t supposed to be a contact sport is it? Yeah, I didn’t think so. By “contact sport” I mean, it isn’t supposed to make contact with my face like it did. Thus, a swollen nose. The bruises I can’t explain and the burn? Well, the burn came from being an awesome babysitter and actually playing in the bounce houses with the kids. Oh yeah!
The ride up to Park Springs was short because I was unconscious. The ride back was amazing because I was with amazing people. Minivan raves don’t happen on the daily, but there was quite the rave this day. They don’t happen very often, especially with people you don’t normally hang out with, but when they do it’s like dancing was stitched into the upholstery and it was meant to happen. Is that a weird analogy? Probably, but I’m going with it. I can honestly say that this weekend was more fun than I thought it even had the potential to be. I dare say it was probably one of the best weekends I have had in quite some time, possibly even since the dawn of the year… maybe.
So today I have been revamping, watching random youtube videos and trying relentlessly to finish two take-home tests.
God takes the most unlikely situation and turns it into something that you won’t forget for a while. If we don’t think our God isn’t down for spontaneity, we are mistaken.
I enjoy randomness.
I like good, diverse people.
I love my God.
I don’t want to keep Him a secret.

I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor. – Henry David Thoreau
